Why Sheldrake Coaching?

I currently have level two coaching qualifications from both the International Triathlon Union (ITU) and Triathlon New Zealand. For the past 25+ years I have successfully been coaching athletes of all abilities and ages, from first timers through to World Champions and Olympians.  This has included athletes all over the world including the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Dubai and the USA to name a few.

From February 2007 through to April 2013 I was a national coach with Triathlon Zealand including being a coach at the 2012 London Olympics. Before this I was a Professional Triathlete for 10 years following on from a sports related double degree from University. Having raced for New Zealand  as an elite athlete in both short and long course races I understand what it takes to compete at all levels and distances.

I am also a parent so understand the demands of family and work life and fitting training around them.


Will it suit me?

I am able to cater for all abilities, distances and resources. I base my training on an individualised programme as everyone is different, with different goals, objectives, time and money constraints and focus on the long term as I believe success does not come overnight. I treat everyone equally whether they want to become an Olympic champion or just complete their first triathlon.

What do I get?

A 100% fully customised training program written by myself for you, not a carbon copy of someone else’s programme of the similar ability.

How much will it cost? 

I have a variety of packages to fit everyone’s budget.  Each package requires a one off $50 sign on fee for new clients or old clients who have been in-active for the previous six months.  There is a minimum 2 month commitment, paid in advance.

New Zealand athletes-Triathlon/Ironman/Multisport Full Contact (Advanced) Package • $50+GST one-off sign on fee • $200+GST per month or $50+GST/week for a detailed training programme which does not include swim sessions (to obtain specific swim sessions an extra $20+GST per week will be charged for up to 3 sessions)  • Minimum of 8weeks, with first 4 weeks paid in advance • Unlimited e-mail contact • Unlimited phone/skype contact to be initiated by the athlete • Programme set on Tranining Peaks every 2-4 weeks

New Zealand athletes-Triathlon/Ironman/Multisport Email (Basic) Package • $50+GST one-off sign on fee • $35+GST per week for detailed training programme which does not include swim sessions (to obtain specific swim sessions an extra $20+GST per week will be charged for up to 3 sessions) • Minimum of 8 weeks, with first 4 weeks paid  in advance • Unlimited e-mail contact • Initial phone call and questionnaire sent to discuss goals and objectives from coaching • All other phone calls are $30+GST each for 30minutes • Programme set on Tranining Peaks every 2-4 weeks

INTERNATIONAL athletes-Triathlon/Ironman/Multisport Full Contact (Advanced) Package • $US50 one-off sign on fee • $US240 per month or $US60/week for a detailed training programme which does not include full swim sessions (will include main sets, to obtain specific swim sessions an extra $US20 per week will be charged for up to 4 sessions)  • Minimum of 2months (or 8 weeks), with first 4 weeks paid in advance • Unlimited e-mail contact • Unlimited Skype/whatsapp contact to be initiated by the athlete • Programme set on Tranining Peaks every 2-4 weeks


Single DisciplineProgramme  Individual programme for swimming, cycling or running. • $50+GST one-off sign on fee • Minimum of 8 weeks, with 4 weeks paid in advance • Initial phone call and questionnaire sent to discuss goals and objectives from coaching • Basic Package (un-limited email contact) $35+GST/week • Advanced Package (un-limited email and phone/skype contact) $200+GST/month or $50+GST/week • For athletes on Email packages all other phone calls are $30+GST each for 30minutes • Programme set on Tranining Peaks every 2-4 weeks

Hourly Rate • One hour one-on-one session for any sport/s $75+GST. 

Half Day (9am -1pm) • Half-day one-on-one session for any sport/s $200+GST.

Full Day (9am – 5pm) • Whole-day one-on-one session for any sport/s $320+GST.

 

How does Sheldrake Coaching work?

Firstly you fill in a questionnaire so that I can understand your training history, short and long term goals, family and work commitments, time available to train, strengths and weaknesses and so on.  Once this has been forwarded back to me I analyze it and come up with a plan of attack.   From here depending on what programme package you have decided on taking will determine the type and amount of feedback I give.

Programming is done through my Training Peaks (TP) account.  For a Basic account this will be provided free by me if you sign up with Sheldrake Coaching, there is also the option for a advanced account with TP that you can personally upgrade to and your own expense where you get a few more data and usage options.
